How to Log Blocked Attempts with OSpam-a-not

OSpam-a-not allows you to log all the blocked attempts to fill in forms in your Joomla site.

  • Go to Extensions > Plugins:

  • You will be taken to the Plugins screen. Search for the OSpam-a-not and once you locate it, click on it to edit it:

You will see the Plugins: System - OSpam-a-not administrative page.

  1. Locate the Minimum Form Time setting. Enter in its field the minimum number of seconds that must elapse for a human submitter to send a form on your site. In my demonstration, I entered 60 seconds.
  2. Locate the Logging parameter and click Yes:

  • Click Save & Close.

Now, next time a human or a bot will try to fill in a form on your site faster than within 60 seconds, OSpam-a-not plugin will create the administrator/logs/ospamanot.log.php file:

Within this log file, you will find the failed attempt entry:

OSpam-a-not allows you to log all the blocked attempts to fill in forms on your Joomla 5 site in a special log file.

Here is how to set this up in your Joomla 5 admin dashboard.

  • Go to System > Manage > Plugins:

  • You will be taken to the Plugins screen. Search for the OSpam-a-not and once you locate it, click on its name:

  • You will see the "Plugins: System - OSpam-a-not" screen, as shown in the next image. In the "Minimum Form Time" field, enter the minimum number of seconds that must elapse for a human submitter to send a form on your site. For our demonstration, we entered 60 seconds.
  • Set the "Logging" parameter to Yes:

  • Click Save & Close.

Next time a human or a bot will try to fill in a form on your Joomla 5 site faster than within 60 seconds, your antispam OSpam-a-not extension will create the administrator/logs/ospamanot.log.php file:
