Earlier this year, I was working with the Joomlashack team on a project. We were busy and the work was difficult.
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed that sales were slow, but I didn't pay too much attention.
Perhaps it was just a bad day? Maybe things will improve in the afternoon?
Then I got an email. It looked like this:
Our checkout process was actually broken! Someone was trying to buy Shack Open Graph, but our checkout would not let them.
In previous years, a problem like this would have gone undetected. Fortunately, we could now catch these errors automatically. And we could get a detailed report on exactly what was wrong.
This email message came from the Shack Error Notify extension. Since we started using it a couple of years ago, it has saved us a ton of money by catching errors like this. We also install it on a lot of customeer websites to help us quickly understand what's going wrong.

Shack Error Notify is easy and quick to set up. You can choose multiple email addresses to receive the error notifications, and you can also choose which types of errors you'd like to be notified about.
- In your Joomla control panel, go to "Extensions" > "Plugins":
- This will bring you to the "Plugins" screen. Find the Shack Error Notify plugin and open it up for editing:
- You will see the Shack Error Notify" screen with the plugin's settings.
- Here you can enter the email addresses for your notifications:
- By default, Shack Error Notify will notify you about all of the types of PHP errors in your Joomla site. You can configure how sensitive this is and stop it from sending notifications about some errors. In the "PHP Errors to Report" or "Select Types" box, you can choose errors.
