How to Reorder Menu Items in Joomla

One of the cool features in Joomla 3 is drag and drop to reorder articles, menus, categories and more.

I'm going to show you how to use drag-and-drop to re-order Joomla menus.

When reordering menu items, I personally recommend to do it by filtering up to the maximum menu level, as explained in this post.

Step #1. Select max menu levels

  • Go to Menus > Your menu.
  • Click "Search tools" button.
  • In "Select max levels" choose the level, in my case is 1. This will display only the menu items from the first level.

Step #2. Reorder menu items

Drag-and-drop the menu items to set a different order, according to your needs.
