OSWistia - Add Wistia Videos to Joomla

Whenever you watch videos at Joomlashack, you watch videos streamed from Wistia.com.

To make publishing our videos easier, we built a Joomla extension called OSWistia.

Here's how to use OSWistia ...

Install OSWistia

If you use Joomla 2.5, you can download the plugin from the OSWistia page at Joomlashack.

If you use Joomla 3:

  • Go to Extensions > Extension Manager > Install from Web.
  • Search for OSWistia and install the plugin.

Now you can enable OSWistia:

  • Go to Extensions > Plugin Manager.
  • Enable the Content - OSWistia plugin.

Get the Wistia Video ID

  • Go to Wistia.com and login.
  • Find the video that you want to embed.
  • Look at the URL in your browser bar and the last part of the URL. In this case, it's u52j85gcwf

  • On your Joomla site, you can now use the syntax in the image below to add the URL to content. Add { wistia } before the video ID and { /wistia } just after it (although don't forget to remove the spaces, as in the image below).

  • When you publish that article, you will now see your Wistia videos on your site in clean and fully responsive format.
