The Joomlaverse was abuzz a few weeks ago about the launch of the Joomla Resource Directory, the Joomla community's official directory of designers, developers, and Joomla-related service providers. The directory, replete with listings for Joomlashack, our hosted and supported Joomla-on-demand service Simplweb, and Compass Designs, can be found at https://resources.joomla.org
But here's the big question: Is the JRD driving traffic to Joomla providers?
It's too early to get good usage data for this new resource, but if the JRD gets anywhere near the estimated 219,000 visits that extensions.joomla.org got in May, Joomla folks like us will see a significant increase in traffic from our listings there. Always a good thing.
Early results for the traffic coming from the JRD to Joomlashack.com is encouraging. According to our Google Analytics stats, since the JRD launched on June 13th (11 days ago), an average of over 200 visitors a day come to Joomlashack from the JRD. These 200+ visitors spend an average of nearly 5 minutes on our site.
The even better news is that an impressive 74% are first time visitors to Joomlashack.com. Hopefully they are looking for our many Joomla services and products, such as our custom Template Tuning, our incredibly valuable Developer Club, and the rest of our commercial templates and Joomla extensions.
Congratulations and great thanks to the Joomla Project team for getting this useful resource directory off the ground. If you are a Joomla service provider, hurry on over and get registered. It's well worth it.
